| The ruins of Blackcleugh bastle stand next to a tributary of the Swinhope Burn. The building measures 10.4m long by 6.6m wide and its north wall is about 1.15m thick. Although much of the building is in ruins there are several probably original features, such as blocked slit openings in the walls and the byre doorway. A later doorway is inscribed '16 WR 95' on its lintel and probably dates some alterations carried out in 1695. In 2007 the building was rebuilt using the original stone. See also:
