| This building is part of the complex of buildings to be seen at Black Middens. Most of the walls only survive at a low height, though the thickness of these walls show that it was probably once a 16th or 17th century bastle. This is part of a Scheduled Monument protected by law. See also: Source of Reference Local History of Tarset with Greystead Location of this site on a map, with option to view historical maps.
