| The earthwork remains of an Iron Age defended settlement lie above the Charlton Burn. The enclosure is roughly triangular in plan. The natural defences on the south-west and north sides are supplemented by a manmade bank and ditch that also protect the remaining sides. Two original entrances lead into the enclosure where there is a linear bank, but no trace of house platforms or hut circles. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
