Dunstan Hill (Newton-by-the-Sea)

These are the remains of an Iron Age settlement on Dunstan Hill. It has been made by cutting into the natural slope of the hill and adding a small inner rampart. The resulting enclosure is roughly oval in shape. On the north-east side is a ditch. There are two possible entrances on the east and south sides. The site is overlain by medieval ridge and furrow. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
