Defended settlement north-west of Chester Cottage (Denwick)

An Iron Age defended settlement stands on the top of a small promontory. It is roughly circular in plan measuring 58m by 55m across. Around the settlement are two ramparts, or banks, of earth and stone and two ditches. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
