Church of St Anne (Ancroft)

This is the parish church of Ancroft. It was first built in the Norman period. In the 13th century a fortified tower was added to the west end. This would have provided protection from raids from Scotland and local raiding. In the 19th century it was heavily restored. It is a Grade II* Listed Building protected by law.
