| Shawdon Hall was built in 1799 by William Hargrave, on the site of an early 15th century tower house. The site of the deserted medieval village of Shawdon probably surrounds the present hall, although no earthworks can be seen. Shawdon Hall is a Listed Building, protected by law. See also:
