| The Hall at Seaton Delaval was built between 1718 and 1729. It was designed by the famous architect Sir John Vanbrugh for Admiral George Delaval. It has a large central main block with small turrets on each corner. Stables and a kitchen on the east and west are linked to the main building by an arcade. The building was damaged by fire in 1752 and restored in 1814-15. The main block was again damaged by a fire in 1822 and it is still an empty ruin. This is a Grade I listed building protected by law.
