The Poind and His Man (Belsay)

Two large standing stones and mound were first recorded in the mid 16th century. In the early 18th century, two mounds were noted, but one was probably an animal pound. This may have given the stones their name. One of the stones was moved to the grounds of Wallington Hall in the 19th century.
