Later prehistoric field banks and hollow way at Wolf Crag (Kirkwhelpington)
Between 200 and 6000 years ago, during what archaeologists call the later prehistoric period, people laid out a field system here which included boundary banks of stone and earth. A hollow way has been created where an area alongside one bank was used as a trackway for many years.
