Ottercops Chain Home radar station (Elsdon)
A radar station was built at Ottercops during World War II (1939 to 1945). It was part of the Chain Home Stations (East Coast type) and had a transmitter, receiver huts and four 240-feet (73m) tall wooden receiver towers. The radar station was protected by four light anti-aircraft artillery sites nearby.
