Roman altar at East Woodburn (Corsenside)

A Roman altar is built into side of a door in the remains of a bastle at Townfoot Farm, East Woodburn. It was first recognised in 1753 when an old house was demolished. It is dedicated to Cocidius and Silvanus and dates to the second or third century AD.
