Keys to the Past

Green Hill enclosed settlement (Simonburn)

This is an enclosed settlement of Iron Age or Roman date. Recent ploughing has damaged it. It is rectangular in shape and contains at least one possible hut circle. Nearby are the damaged remains of fields and a trackway.
