Whitchester deserted medieval village (Melkridge)

The village of Whitchester existed in the medieval period. It was probably founded at this time, although it may have been occupied in the early medieval period. Archaeologists call settlements that have shrunk or been completely abandoned since the medieval period deserted medieval villages.
