Keys to the Past

Bellister deserted settlement (Featherstone)

Bellister was a manor in the liberty of Tynedale. It is recorded as far back as the 12th century when it was granted to the Roos family. Bellister was taken from them during the 14th century Scottish wars. There is no evidence that there was ever a village at Bellister and today there is only a single farm.
