This remote bastle stands 1km south of Shankfoot on the south side of the South Tyne Valley. At one time there was a larger settlement and ruins and foundations stand to the east and west of the main building. The bastle was probably one of a pair and has thick walls. In the west end is a gun loop set into the wall. This settlement was probably built in the 16th or 17th century.
