Boakam House (West Allen)
This building may be the site of a meeting house of a group of worshippers known as Bochimites, named after a reference in the Book of Judges. The meeting house is a simple rectangle in plan, with rubble walls. Unlike many other non-conformist meeting houses, this appears to have been deliberately placed in a remote site. The remains of Bochim House are those of the smallest and most primitive meeting-houses to survive in the Allendales.
|Historical period:||Post Medieval (1540 to 1901)|
