The ruins of Linn View stand on the steep hillside below the hamlet of Limestone Braes. It is the remains of an early 17th century bastle. The remains include a single north-south range. The bastle remains stand to the north of the range, while to the south are the remains of a later 17th or early 18th century farmstead. A further extension was added in the later 18th century. Although now in a ruined state this is a good example of a bastle in Allendale.
