Gowanburn medieval farmstead (Kielder)
Earthworks north-east of Gowan Burn House in the 19th century are all that remain of a medieval farmstead. Today, the area is within the Kielder Forest, although archaeologists think that the earthworks have not been completely destroyed by tree planting.
