Emmethaugh deserted village, Kielder Water (Falstone)

It has been suggested that there was once a medieval village at Emmethaugh, but no supporting evidence has been found. Before Kielder Water reservoir was flooded in the 1980s the standing buildings at Emmethaugh Farm were recorded in the 1970s but no evidence of a medieval origin was found. The farm was built in 1823 and repairs were carried out in 1890.
