Medieval hospital at The Spital (Haltwhistle)

The Spital farmhouse, near the entrance to Blenkinsopp Hall, is thought to stand on the site of a medieval hospital. A hospital was founded here in 1274 but had gone out of use, or moved somewhere else, by 1500. There are no traces of a medieval building to be seen in the farm today.
