Crooks Camp (Thirlwall)

This was the site of a temporary Roman army camp. It stands to the south of Hadrian's Wall. It survives as a series of earthworks on the ground. In places, the ramparts and ditches which once surrounded it can still be seen. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
