Iron Age Settlement (Warkworth)
A deep ditch defended the earliest stages of Warkworth Castle, and it has been suggested that this ditch may be Iron Age in origin. The ditch cut off the end of the spur within the bend of the River Coquet. It is part of a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
