Iron Age or Roman period settlement (Easington (Northumberland))

Between 1500 and 3000 years ago people lived in a settlement here, during what archaeologists call the Iron Age or Roman period. A 19th century quarry destroyed the site. Several pots and stone querns were found by the quarry workers, but these have since been lost.
