North Charlton medieval open field system (Eglingham)
East of North Charlton medieval village are part of the medieval open field system that would once have surrounded the whole village. They survive as extensive earthworks comprising furlongs, or fields, with ridge and furrow cultivation. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
