Windmill (Kyloe)

A strange wooden framework was found here in the late 19th century whilst working a quarry. It is possible that they may be the remains of a windmill base, though not windmill is recorded as having stood here. Another possibility is that this may have been the base of a memorial to St Cuthbert, whose body may have stood here on the way from Lindisfarne in AD868.
