Bronze Age pottery (Ancroft)
A fragment of Bronze Age pottery was found in at Scremerston Hill in 1925. It was from a type of pot known as a Food Vessel Urn. These were often used to contain the burnt remains of the dead. This discovery of this small sherd may mean that there was a Bronze Age cemetery in this area.
