Mesolithic flint tools found in Trickley Wood, Lilburn (Tillside)

Between 6000 and 12,000 years ago, during what archaeologists call the Mesolithic period, people made these flint tools. They would have been used as blades in arrows, spears, scrapers and knives. These tools would have been used to collect plants, for woodworking, to prepare food and to make clothes from skins and containers from bark and grasses.
