Cup and ring marked stone, found near Wood House (Hedgeley)
A cup and ring marked stone was found near Wood House, Hedgeley. Neolithic people carved cup and ring marks on natural rocks all over this region. Archaeologists think they may be connected to the religion of the people who carved them, or to land boundaries. The stone can be seen at Alnwick Castle Museum.
