Battle of Grindon (Duddo)
This is the site of a long running battle that took place in 1558. A thousand horsemen, led by French officers, were overtaken by Sir Henry Percy and defeated. It was not a major battle and was one of many Border skirmishes that took place in the region in the 16th century.
