Possible bastle at Earle (Earle)
A 16th century survey records a bastle in the township of Yerdle (Earle). It belonged to Thomas Hebburn and Gilbert Scott and is also shown on a map of 1584. Records show that Hebburn owned land at South Earle and Scott at North Earle, but there is nothing at either place to show where this bastle might have stood.
|Historical period:||Post Medieval (1540 to 1901)|
