The Carts settlement and field system (Simonburn)
This is a five-sided enclosure on the crest of a hill overlooking the Hopeshield Burn. It is marked by a low bank with an entrance midway through the north-east facing side. At least one hut circle is visible in the interior. It is probably the remains of a Roman period settlement.
