Post-medieval enclosure and field system near Saughy Rigg (Melkridge)
Farmers built this roughly rectangular enclosure surrounded by a sod cast bank, north west of Saughy Rigg, at an unknown date in the post-medieval period. Within and outside the enclosure are the remains of broad ridge and furrow cultivation, visible today as earthworks.
