Salt Pan (Blyth)
Between 1153 and 1165 the convent of Brinkburn was given the salt pan at Aynewick. They were abandoned about 1589. The precise site of these salt pans is now unknown. The area has now been built over with houses, shipbuilding yards and a colliery.
