Newbiggin Mesolithic flints (Newbiggin-by-the-Sea)
A large number of Mesolithic flint tools have been found at Sandle Holes and Element Head. In all over 1500 flints have been discovered here. It is clear that many of these tools must have been made at this site. This was probably the remains of an early hunting or fishing camp.
