Early medieval cross fragments (Wansbeck)

A number of fragments of pre-Conquest crosses have been discovered at Woodhorn Church and have been preserved inside it. The fragments include a cross head and several cross shafts. The carving has been dated to between the mid-10th and mid-11th centuries and there is thought to be a link with Durham.
