Shadfen medieval settlement, Hepscott (Hepscott)

We know that the manor of Shadfen existed in the thirteenth century because it is mentioned in documents written at this time. There is no mention of a village at Shadfen. A document written in 1603 describes Shadfen as two farms within the township of Hepscott.
