Hollow ways at Lordenshaws Hillfort (Whitton and Tosson; Brinkburn and Hesleyhurst)

These sunken trackways, known as hollow ways, lead towards the two entrances to Lordenshaws Hillfort. The hollow ways are at least three thousand years old, and may pre-date the hillfort. The hollow ways are part of a Scheduled Monument, protected by law.
