Lordenshaws round cairn cemetery (Brinkburn and Hesleyhurst)

People built this group of eleven cairns for the burial of their dead during what archaeologists call the Bronze Age period. Three of the cairns are close together, and are known as the Warriors' Graves. Later, during what archaeologists call the Iron Age, Lordenshaw hillfort was built nearby. The cemetery is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
