Keys to the Past

Cairn on Garleigh Hill, north east of Lordenshaw (Brinkburn and Hesleyhurst)

People built this cairn for the burial of their dead in the Bronze Age period. During the post-medieval period, some stones from the cairn were used to build an enclosure. The cairn is a Scheduled Monument, protected by law.
