Keys to the Past

Newtown West (Whitton and Tosson)

This is the site of a medieval farmstead. A rectangular earthwork can be seen. A ditch and an earth bank surround it. The foundations of three rectangular buildings are visible within the enclosure. Fragments of medieval pottery have been found in molehills at this site, and ridge and furrow can be seen in the surrounding area.
