East Shaftoe Farm flints (Capheaton)

A flint core and a microlith were discovered in fields south-east of East Shaftoe. The microlith is made from high quality flint and may be an Early Mesolithic broad blade.

Historical period: Later Prehistoric (4000BC to 43AD)
Mesolithic (10000BC to 4000BC)
