Iron Age Settlement (Alwinton)

This Early Iron Age settlement stands on the top of a ridge near Hosedon Linn. The remains of at least eight round houses can be seen. A slight groove to the east of the houses is thought to be the remains of the foundation trench of a palisade. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
