Moated medieval farm at The Fawns (Kirkwhelpington)

The Fawns is first mentioned in a document written in 1303. A square enclosure surrounded by a moat and containing at least four rectangular building platforms can still be seen here today. The Fawns medieval moated site is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
