Standing Stone (Matfen)

This is a Bronze Age standing stone in a field to the south of Sandywayhead Farmhouse. It is over 2m high. On the eastern side are at least four cup marks carved into the stone. It is known locally as the Warrior Stone. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
