Lune Head Lead-Ore Crushing Mill (Lunedale)

A mid-19th century lead-ore crusher stands at this site. The remains of a water-powered crusher and several buildings including two groups of cottages and a smithy can be seen. Water to drive the crusher was brought to the site along a channel cut in the hillside. Crossing this channel is light railway line to the crusher building. This site was worked from 1770 to 1880.
