Scheduled Roman site, Keld Smithy Green, Holwick (Holwick)
This is the site of a small Roman settlement. At least three stone hut circles are enclosed by a stone and earthen bank. The remains of a medieval bloomery stand nearby, and a large slag heap can be seen (1).
