The Church of St James is the parish church of Castle Eden. It is date 1764, though includes earlier medieval masonry in the west end and tower. The aisles were added c.1800 and the chancel was rebuilt in 1896. Inside are a number of 19th century memorial stones. (1)

There are a number of features in the church associated with the commemoration of fallen soldiers in the First World War and WW2 (2-3).

This is a Grade II listed building protected by law.
