Lanchester, Little Greencroft, "The Hurbuck Hoard" (Lanchester)

A hoard of eighteen iron objects were found here in 1861. Objects found include two swords, four axes, four scythes, a pickaxe and parts of a buckle. It is thought that these probably date to the Viking period (9th-11th centuries).
