Roman dam and aqueduct system, Castleside, Healeyfield (Castleside)
A dam made of a bank of clay, faced with stone, has been found here. It is probably of Roman date and is connected with a Roman aqueduct running to Lanchester Roman fort. This is a Scheduled Ancient Monument protected by law.
